“...sounds like this” Reviews

‘...sounds like this’ created by singer, writer, multi instrumentalist, producer and all round auteur Glyn Devey, begins with a big music pop/rock radio friendly sound which rapidly moves into more soulful territorywith some dextrously funky bass to compliment the big guitars.

Glyn’s tastes and influences are wide and all embracing. This is forcefully illustrated on the series of songs starting with All Around The World where the music runs through a cultural cut up of RnB, Latin, middle eastern to borderline Bollywood, into She’s Dreaming a rocky slag off of someone aspiring to the Posh/Katie Price lifestyle and into a James Blunt with bloodied fangs, savage put down of Just Another Woman. The album ends with Felix a rather lovely solo acoustic guitar requiem.

Wildly, wilfully eclectic ‘...sounds like this’ is a fascinating jumping off point. It will be interesting to see which direction Glyn takes next.

“When we make love” - Review
Beautifully crafted power ballad, with an instant appeal. Glyn's voice reaches out from the songs and implores the listener to get involved. The arrangement is exceptionally polished, with some of the best backing vocals, guitar, piano and drums that you're likely to hear on any recording on Lemonrock. But don't be fooled - Glyn is no Studio Hermit - see him out and about in Bucks and Herts where he'll entertain with just an acoustic guitar and keyboard, and lift your spirits!"
